March. Oh March. So close to spring, and yet so far away. We just continue to get more and more snow.
And covid is finally hitting our house for the first time.
So much snow! It makes it difficult to ski sometimes when it is too much snow. Also, even more difficult to drive home when Mom is looking at the GPS and not the road, and runs off the side and it's a big drop. They had to get a tow cable. So many people offered to help and it was so sweet. Apparently this spot on the drive gets so many people stuck, the ski resort has a tractor on stand by to pull people out.
Athena was pretty bummed about covid I guess. It looks like a pug head with human feet.
Bat Pug, Bat Pug
Eden is so excited for her birthday. She decided to have the theme about her Beta fish Eithan.
So she got to work making fish balloon decorations and all the things.
Eithan! The girl has talent.
And a ridiculous pug picture because that is our life.
Then she went to work on her cake. All the different beta fish for her beta fish cake.

Eden spent days preparing the decorations for her birthday. Beta Fish theme was superb! Then, she requested Derek teach her how to make fish tacos for her birthday dinner. She created all the fondant beta fish for her cake, and helped to bake and decorate her cake. Eden is so independent. She has always figured out what she wants, and then she goes for it and works so hard for the things that she loves. It is so inspiring. To add to Eden's creative side we all got decorated birthday hats to go along for the day.
Derek made amazing french toast with the best bread and fruit on top.
Eden deserves to be spoiled all the time. I'm so proud of her and the young woman she is growing up to become.
We took a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska. Hoping to chase some auroras, which weren't there for us this time, and to see some ice sculptures. Our first stop was at our favorite crepe restaurant. Delicious crepes are a definite must have when we go to Fairbanks.
After some yummy crepes we bought some cheap sleds from walmart and went to see all the ice sculptures and go sledding on ice.
The king on his thrown with all of his minions.
After grabbing some food we wanted to come back and check out all the ice sculptures at night all lit up. It was so fun to see all the different colors. It is so beautiful how people can carve these amazing creations out of ice!
The next day we went for a drive and went to Castner Glacier. It was a couple hours outside of Fairnbanks and then a short hike, and it was so worth it! It was a beautiful and fun hike. And the glacier was so unique and we could walk right up to it and touch it and then we slid down a hill on our bottoms.
The opening was a lot bigger than it appears, but it is just so need to see the over hang.
We were pretty tired hiking back out, but it was such a fun thing to show the kids.
Got my Mimi baby clothes finally hung on a wall in my room. My great Grandma hand sewed that night dress for her babies and my Grandma kept it all these years and we were able to put it in a shadow box for the granddaughters to have something special from Mimi.
Odin sometimes likes to dress up as Harry Potter.

I feel lucky to see the glacier we do see because they are constantly changing and won't be around forever.

Derek used some blueberries we had frozen from the fall to make some delicious blueberry muffins, which are now a family favorite and a staple for after picking blueberries every fall.
We stopped to check the mail box, and Kael jumped out and then we said, Kael get back in the car now calmly because this big guy was standing not 10 ft away from the box...

This is the season of fish. This is Anakin from Kael's fish tank.
We did a thing. We bought a 30 ft camping trailer. We are so excited for our summers camping in Alaska.
Little Missy is helping to paint.
Odin sometimes likes to dress up as Harry Potter.
We decided to name the trailer "Imagine Dragon". Derek bought decal stickers of dragons to put on the trailer and it definitely makes it look exciting.
